Dear friends,

This is the beginning of a dream come true to have a small spot in nature to share with friends, contribute to the conservation and restoration of the incredible biodiversity of the Brazilian cerrado (neotropical savanna) and support local development in the Chapada dos Veadeiros region.

This project emerges from our belief that we can ‘lend a helping hand’ to nature so that it recovers, is conserved and used in a sustainable way - what we call “generating nature”. We also believe that nature’s goods and services, such as fruits, water and the immense diversity of animals and plants, can be engines of local development, and contribute to the well-being of the local population.

We would like to have you very close to this project, sharing the "pleasures and unpleasures" of each step. Your participation will bring ideas, knowledge and experience, and is key to the success of this adventure – we present some initial ideas for your participation, but we count on your suggestions.

Each of us in different parts of the world and Brazil coming together around an idea of global, national and local importance - this is the spirit of the Buritis Brook Nature Reserve.

The Cerrado is burning and needs your help.

Wildfires are destroying our home - this year’s wildfires have already burnt a large area in the Chapada dos Veadeiros. Volunteers from Cavalcante’s fire brigade - BRIVAC - are risking their life to stop this.

Your donation will keep them going! To learn more, kindly access the page: Urgent, Cerrado!
